Our Story

After years of teaching in the UK and internationally, I saw firsthand how many children were slipping through the cracks - not because they weren’t bright or capable, but because they weren’t getting the individualised support they needed. Even in the most elite schools, the demands of whole-class teaching made it nearly impossible to give every child the time, attention, and personalised help they needed.

 

That’s why I started Next Little Step — a space where children and families can access compassionate, tailored support that truly meets them where they are. A space where every child is seen, heard, and supported to grow in their own unique way.​

 

 

Why Next Little Step?

 

 

Because one-size-fits-all education doesn’t work.

In busy classrooms, children who learn differently — whether they need more time, more challenge, or a different approach — often go unnoticed. Gaps in learning can build quietly. Children may appear “fine” while silently struggling. And by the time those struggles are obvious, they’re often much harder to fix. That’s where personalised support makes all the difference.

 

Because early intervention changes everything.

The earlier we identify and support a child’s challenges — whether academic, emotional, or behavioural — the better their long-term outcomes. Research shows that early, targeted support improves academic achievement, emotional regulation, confidence, and wellbeing. With a strong EYFS background, I’m uniquely positioned to spot these needs early and provide play-based, age-appropriate support.

 

Because wellbeing and learning are inseparable.

A child who feels anxious, frustrated, or disconnected isn’t in the right state to learn. That’s why our approach addresses the whole child - blending tutoring, life coaching, play therapy principles, and behaviour support to help children grow not only in skills, but in confidence, resilience, and joy.
